Trivia

  • Mythology Island is Poptropica’s 12th island. It was released on April 1, 2010 for members and April 29, 2010 for non-members.
  • Common room: Midas’ Gym
  • The villain, Zeus, reappears in the final battle of Super Villain Island, and the fight is similar to that of Mythology Island.
  • Mythology Island is inspired by Greek mythology, with gods such as Athena, Zeus, Poseidon, and creatures such as satyrs and Minotaur.
  • Hercules is called by his Roman name rather than his Greek name, Heracles.
  • The Bag of Wind from Aeolus’ Wind Wagon is a reference to Homer’s The Odyssey. In it, Aeolus gives Odysseus a bag of wind, but his crew opens it too early and their ship is blown far away just as they were about to reach Ithaca.

    Poptropica wants YOU to succeed!

Poptropica needs a hero to spare it from the wrath and thunderbolts of mighty Zeus. You must travel throughout Ancient Greece – crossing the River Styx, climbing Mount Olympus, exploring the underworld – to help Zeus find his sacred items. Don’t disappoint the gods, or else Poptropica might suffer.

    My favourite parts…

Costumising the gods! You don’t get much an oppotunity to costumise Zues, though…

The Minotaur’s labyrinth is pretty fun!

Crossing the river styx is hard, but fun!

I like going through the underwater maze, trying to get as far as I can without refilling my oxygen! *chokes* I…can’t…breath…. xD ;)

    • Silver Dolphin says:

I got super stuck on the labyrinth part where u click on the red-eyed snake 3 times – but then I realised the trick was to wait over a hole for the red eye to pop out. THEN I DID IT! YAY POPTROPICA :)

  3. spiky bomb aka director bomb says:

  7. Silver Bones says:

i agree with Silver Dolphin about the members thing. It just takes the fun out of everything. Thanks for the help. Hades looks awesome!

  8. Speed of Light says:

First when you find the snake, right click quickly then press on the snake twice really quick to catch it.

  9. daisylove34 says:

this is my fav island EVAR!!!

  10. Popular Cloud says:

The Red-eyed snake catch is super hard! It disappears too quickly! I love, love, love, getting Aphrodite’s costume and Athena’s costume! This island is totally awesome!!! :D

  11. Jake says:

mythology island is ok but, i think the creators should make a multiverse were you can fight each other with your clan, by useing your coutums that you buy in the store with your credits. I would pay to see that. lol

If they make it, this would give poptropica a whole new deffiniton i think. It gets kind of boring just battling friends 1 on 1. But why not use your weapons to fight them that would be cool in so many ways. Like capture the flag or last man standing kind of thing.

  12. I defeated Mythology a looong time ago, around when it came out. I love all the lovely costume choices, especially the hoop earrings and Poseidon’s hair. The hoop earrings go with everything and the cute shortness on Poseidon’s hair with the crown is so awesome. And yeah, that’s the pretty clothes seeker in me again. But to get to something besides costume parts, the quest is awesome, the twist Zeus gave near the end is awesome, and the reward is awesome. (Not just a shiny medal and $100, an awesome crown and trident that you can use on any island!) So yeah, Mythology has got to be my favorite island. :)

  13. Alex (Icy Catfish) says:

I like how that one girl says “OMZ!” rather than OMG. That provided a few chortles. Then I later learned that one of Zeus’s other names was Jove, as in “By Jove, I think she’s got it!” Learn something new every day, I guess.
